Charlène, Training Project Manager in our Paris Office

“Hello, my name is Charlène. I'm the Training Project Manager for the Europe-Africa Commercial zone at Club Med: this is the zone in charge of selling Club Med holidays to our customers in the Europe-Africa zone and I've been working here since January 2020.”

What is your role?

“As a Training Project Manager, my mission is twofold: the first is to develop our G.Os, to ensure that they develop their skills and gain experience, so that we can have the right skills at the right place, and so that we can also offer them the opportunity to be mobile, either between the different departments or between the different countries covered by Club Med. My second job is to ensure that we have the right skills in the right place so that we can implement projects and roll out our strategy internationally.”

What do you love the most about your job?
“There are three things I am particularly passionate about in my assignments: the first is the work environment and conditions offered by Club Med. We have very strong values at Club Med, which are kindness, and multiculturalism, and I find that this is extremely tangible on a daily basis. We work with people who are extremely caring and inspiring and that's a real driver.

Secondly, my missions: I am mainly in charge of the development of my colleagues, and this is something that is constantly changing and that is extremely motivating, inspiring, it feeds me a lot and I feel like I bring a lot to my colleagues and that is also a driver for me.

The third thing is that you have the opportunity to travel all over the world, both personally and professionally, and that's really interesting.”

How did you evolve?

“I joined Club Med two and a half years ago as a training officer and with the Covid crisis, my missions changed a lot as well as the expectations of my employees, so my objectives had to change accordingly. I suggested to my manager that I should move up the ladder, and we discussed it together and agreed, which enabled me to take up a training project manager position later”.

What motivates your every day?

“Club Med really does offer the opportunity to develop and fulfill yourself daily through training and personalized support. What's extremely tangible at Club Med is that we are a real skills incubator. We develop our G.Os so that they can later develop skills that will enable them to take on positions of greater responsibility or simply move from one department to another or from one country to another. We enable employees to build bridges between the various business lines and between the office and the Resorts: a Sports Manager may well become a TED salesperson in an agency (i.e. a Travel Experience Designer salesperson) and why not move on to a position related to marketing, another sales position and why not one day become a country manager or a member of the Board.”

Why did you join Club Med?

“Two years ago, when I was looking for new challenges, I wanted a change: at the time, I was working in the luxury industry for fashion and leather goods and I wanted a new challenge and new opportunities, and at that time, Club Med came looking for me. I said to myself, "Why not give it a try?" and I immediately embraced Club Med's values, particularly the kindness state of mind, the multicultural nature, the pioneering spirit...

These were things that spoke to me a lot and I said to myself "why not?". I have no regrets today because the conditions we are offered at Club Med are extremely beneficial.”
