Club Med Resorts, perfectly integrated into their environment

Over the years, Club Med has developed practices that meet the key challenges of sustainable tourism. What's more, Club Med was one of the pioneers in this field. At a time when ecology was not yet a central issue, Club Med was already acting to support green innovation. This was the case, for example, as early as 1978, with the installation of a large field of solar collectors at the Resort des Boucaniers in La Martinique. Since then, preserving resources has been one of Club Med's key priorities. Its goals: to give priority to renewable energies and recycling, to contribute to local development and to employ people of different origins, religions, nationalities and cultures.

100% of our Club Med Resorts are Green Globe certified

As part of its commitment to sustainable tourism, Club Med is constantly striving to improve its environmental and social management. This is reflected in the Green Globe certification obtained by almost all our Resorts. Based on over 350 criteria, this demanding certification rewards vacation establishments committed to sustainable tourism. The assessment criteria are based on four pillars: sustainable management, economic and social management and respect for cultural heritage and the environment. All certified Resorts are audited every two years.

Club Med is also about sustainable management!

And let's not forget: one of Club Med's primary sources of renewable energy is the inexhaustible power of its G.Os & G.Es! All our team members actively contribute to this sustainable tourism approach. Our aim is to manage our staff so that they manage water and waste more efficiently. On a day-to-day basis, we want our employees to protect biodiversity and make every effort to be more energy-efficient. Every year, over 15,000 Club Med G.Os are trained in sustainable development. Better still, the job of "Green G.O" has even been specifically created in some of our Resorts. Their role? To coordinate and develop ecological initiatives within the Resorts.
