An essential member of the Club Med team, the Restaurant Employee coordinates the work of the kitchen, the bar and the dining room. He or she is responsible for the quality of the service and must accompany customers by offering them personalized, high-quality service, from the moment they are welcomed until the end of their meal. What is the role of a Restaurant Employee?

As the name indicates, a Restaurant Employee performs several functions in a restaurant. In the kitchen and at the bar, he/she prepares drinks and simple dishes such as cheeses, sandwiches and desserts. In the dining room, his role is to offer personalized service to customers. He/she welcomes them, informs them about the dishes on the buffet, registers their drink orders, serves them and finally collects the payments. The Restaurant Employee also participates in the maintenance of the kitchen and the tidying up of the dining room, notably by cleaning and clearing the tables, buffets and trays while respecting the rules of hygiene and safety.

Our dining areas are multi-faceted and you will also be enriched by them. Within each Resort, you will find a main restaurant, but also an event bar as well as cosy and lounge areas for more intimate atmospheres. These different areas are all in one place and are the perfect place for conviviality. From the buffet to the table service, without forgetting the usual aperitif and the themed meals where your sense of creativity will be solicited, you will have the opportunity to work with team members coming from all horizons, which will allow you to enrich yourself on a human level and to create links for life.

What training should I take to become a Club Med Restaurant Employee?

You can apply for the position of Restaurant Employee at Club Med with a minimum of 2 years of experience and/or training in the restaurant profession and with proof of experience in the restaurant, bar and kitchen. The preferred diplomas are CAP Restaurant, BEP Restauration, Bac Professionnel Restauration, Bac Technologique Hôtellerie and BTS Hôtellerie-Restauration. Working at Club Med as a Restaurant Employee will open up many opportunities for professional development. By continuing to work in the same job, you can become a Team Leader and manage several Restaurant Employees. You will also have the possibility to evolve as an Assistant and Manager of a Restaurant.

What are the required skills to be a Restaurant Employee?

As a Restaurant Employee at Club Med, your role is to establish a trusting relationship with our customers. You are expected to be sociable, welcoming them with smiles, listening to them attentively, and responding to their requests in order to provide personalized service. Knowledge of foreign languages, such as English, is a plus to facilitate communication with our customers but is not mandatory. The competence of a Restaurant Employee is also based on the ability and speed of execution while respecting the rules of hygiene in order to limit waiting times. The important thing is to be organized and to always keep a sense of priorities to ensure efficiency.
