Singapore, SingaporeThe Buyer will manage in autonomy the Local Income (excursion, boutique contracts), Transfer, Facility Management (laundry, chemicals, housekeeping etc...). categories and will report to the Assistant Purchasing Manager implementing Club Med’s Purchasing strategy to the purchasing categories he/she is charge of, both for Club Med resorts & offices in SEA (Maldives, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia) as well as sourcing and qualification of suppliers on a new project in Borneo.
The Buyer contributes and acts in respect of the Group’s Purchasing strategy on the specific categories listed above, in order to meet the needs of internal clients and to supply Club Med with products and services at the appropriate level of quality/cost and lead-time.
This position will be a 1-year contract.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct market watch (suppliers, markets)
- Participate in the Group purchasing strategy definition and prepare application on the geography
- Define the supplier strategy on the categories: supplier panel definition and evolutions, detailed strategy by supplier, working methods.
- Consolidation & analysis of internal users’ needs (specifications, recommendations…)
- Local Sourcing
Operational Missions
Mission 1 :
- Category Management in autonomy : Local Income (excursion, boutique contracts), Transfer, Facility Management (laundry, chemicals, housekeeping etc...).
- Manage regular Tenders to optimize prices (handle source-to-contract process), follow-up of consumption, recommendations for the resorts, update of databases & products catalogues prices in the system
- Facilitate the co-operation and communication with resort team (weekly monitoring of reporting and lodge feedbacks to suppliers for resolution, to work closely with Procurers in the resorts)
- Define and formalize, with Business Partners involved, the performance objectives expected from suppliers (selection criteria, KPIs expected…)
Mission 2:
- Collect and consolidate the needs of various departments
- Challenge specifications from internal users and prescribers
- Analysis of data, follow up of contracts with Business Partners
Mission 3:
- Sourcing & Prequalification of the key suppliers of his/her categories for Borneo project , as well as supporting other categories using the language skills if needed

- Savings on purchase price and on total cost of Ownership
- Satisfaction of internal and external clients regarding purchases scope
- Application of purchasing procedures, processes and methods
- Reduction in number of suppliers and qualification of suppliers meeting Club Med Quality requirements
- Comprehensiveness and reliability of contract information communicated internally
- Group synergies on purchasing categories ; Sourcing for the Group
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree / Master degree in Procurement specialization
- 3-5 years relevant working experience in Procurement within Hospitality or FMCG industry in Asia (Experience in Facility Management preferred)
- Expertise and experience in purchasing negotiations and practices
- Technical knowledge of purchasing categories
- Basic legal knowledge in purchasing
- Excellent Negotiation / commercial acumen and excellent Communication skills
- Solution oriented, Rigorous, detail-oriented for figures
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Oracle or equivalent ERP. Experience in Coupa or equivalent ERP is added advantage.
- Fluent in English and Malaysian Bahasa
This position requires regular business trips to Club Med’s resorts and offices in SEA depending on the priorities.
