PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Business Control Manager leads the planning, coordination, and consolidation of the Business Unit’s key financial cycles, including closings, forecasts, the annual budget and the Business Plan. The role is responsible for ensuring the reliability and consistency of the consolidated P&L, coordinating contributions from commercial activities, operations, Capex, head-office support functions, ARO/ROCP, and providing management with clear financial insights to support decision-making and the achievement of business objectives. Acting as a strategic finance partner, the Business Control Manager challenges financial and operational performance, identifies risks and opportunities, and ensures effective communication and alignment among finance teams, operational teams, commercial teams, and management. The role also oversees internal controls, ad hoc studies, and the management and development of the Business Control team.
GENERAL MISSIONS
1. Financial Monitoring and Reporting
o Analyze financial data to track performance against budgets and forecasts, including monthly, semester and yearly closing.
o Generate periodic financial reports with actionable insights for leadership.
o Collaborate with stakeholders to establish relevant KPIs and ensure consistent tracking., participate in business review and adhoc bcases to improve performance and costs management.
o Oversee the consolidation and analysis of the Business Unit’s P&L across all management financial cycles.
o The role includes occasionally analysis and coordination tasks on an APAC scope.
2. Budget and Forecast Management
o Coordinate the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
o Support the development of accurate financial forecasts (quarterly) to guide decision-making.
o Monitor budget adherence and collaborate with teams to address variances and highlighting risks & opportunities throughout the financial year.
3. Internal Controls and Compliance
o Develop and oversee internal control systems to ensure financial data accuracy.
o Ensure compliance with company policies and external regulatory requirements.
o Identify and mitigate financial risks within operational processes.
4. Process Optimization and Efficiency
o Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and enhance productivity.
o Implement best practices to streamline reporting and financial operations.
o Use financial tools to improve resource allocation and cost efficiency.
5. Business Partnering
o Act as a strategic advisor to operating teams, providing financial guidance and recommendations.
o Collaborate across departments to align financial goals with operational strategies.
o Support leadership during critical business reviews and decision-making processes.
6. Management and Leadership
o Mobilize and unite around a common vision: Engage teams with clear, inspiring communication aligned with strategic objectives.
o Support change and innovation:
Anticipate developments, adapt working methods and foster a learning culture.
o Developing empowered leaders and teams: Identifying talent, empowering people and creating a climate of trust and recognition
KPI (position requirements objective)
o Budget Adherence: Percentage of variance between actual and budgeted results.
o Report Accuracy: Percentage of financial reports delivered without errors.
o Process Improvement: Time or cost savings achieved through optimized processes.
o Compliance Rate: Percentage of internal audits completed without major findings.
o Stakeholder Satisfaction: Feedback from operational teams and leadership on financial support.
