Diese Position ist Teil des Clusters Westeuropa innerhalb des Geschäftsbereichs Europa & Afrika (EMEA). Der Cluster vermarktet und vertreibt Club Med-Resorts in seinen wichtigsten westeuropäischen Märkten. Wir richten uns sowohl an Privatkunden (FIT) als auch an Firmenkunden (MICE) und nutzen dabei sowohl direkte (Web, Callcenter) als auch indirekte (Fachhandel) Vertriebskanäle.

Stellenübersicht

Als Chief Accountant bei Club Med Deutschland leiten und führen Sie persönlich den Bereich Rechnungswesen für die deutschen juristischen Personen. Sie berichten an den Finance & Administration Manager mit Sitz in Belgien. Es handelt sich um eine praxisorientierte Führungsrolle: Sie sind durchgängig für die Buchhaltung verantwortlich, erstellen und prüfen die Zahlen selbst, anstatt nur zu beaufsichtigen, leiten ein kleines Buchhaltungsteam und fungieren als lokale Anlaufstelle für Finanzen und Verwaltung in Deutschland. Dies ist eine Gelegenheit, die technische Verantwortung für das Tagesgeschäft im Rechnungswesen mit Führungsaufgaben zu verbinden und direkt zur finanziellen Gesundheit und zum Erfolg von Club Med in Deutschland beizutragen.

Berufserfahrung

• Mindestens 5 Jahre einschlägige Berufserfahrung im Rechnungswesen, einschließlich der eigenverantwortlichen Durchführung des gesamten Buchhaltungszyklus und des Monatsabschlusses.

• Vorherige Erfahrung in einer Führungs- oder Teamleiterfunktion.

• Fundierte, praktische Kenntnisse der IFRS und des HGB; Erfahrung mit den französischen Rechnungslegungsstandards (GAAP) sind von Vorteil.

Fähigkeiten

• Sicherer und praxisorientierter Umgang mit ERP-Systemen (z. B. SAP, Oracle, BFC) sowie fortgeschrittene Kenntnisse in Microsoft Excel.

• Ausgezeichnete analytische und problemlösungsorientierte Fähigkeiten mit ausgeprägtem Blick fürs Detail.

• Fähigkeit, mehrere Prioritäten gleichzeitig zu bewältigen, Termine einzuhalten und in einem schnelllebigen Umfeld praxisorientiert zu arbeiten.

• Fließende Englisch- und Deutschkenntnisse; Französisch ist von Vorteil.

About our Business Unit and Cluster

This role is part of the Western Europe Cluster within the Europe & Africa (EMEA) Business Unit. The Cluster promotes and sells Club Med resorts to its key Western European markets. We target individual (FIT) and corporate (MICE) clients through both direct (web, call center) and indirect (trade) sales channels.

Job Overview

As the Chief Accountant for Club Med Germany, you will lead and personally run, the accounting function for the German legal entities. Reporting to the Finance & Administration Manager based in Belgium, this is a hands-on leadership role: you will own the books end-to-end, preparing and reviewing the numbers yourself rather than only supervising, while guiding a small accounting team and acting as the local finance and administration anchor in Germany. It is an opportunity to combine technical, day-to-day accounting ownership with leadership, and to directly contribute to the financial health and success of Club Med in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

1. Hands-On Accounting Operations

• Personally manage and review day-to-day accounting across the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable and payroll postings — working alongside the team rather than overseeing from a distance.

• Own and run the close yourself: prepare and review journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations for the month-end, quarter-end and year-end, ensuring timely and accurate books.

• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.

2. Financial Reporting

• Prepare and oversee accurate monthly, quarterly, half-year and annual financial reports in compliance with IFRS, HGB (German GAAP) and internal Group standards.

• Manage the monthly closing process, ensuring timely submission and accuracy.

• Prepare consolidated financial statements and Group reporting packages, including via the Group consolidation tool (BFC).

3. Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements — including VAT, corporation tax and payroll — and with German statutory obligations (e.g. Finanzamt filings, GoBD, Handelsregister).

• Prepare statutory financial statements and tax declarations.

• Coordinate internal and external audits and liaise directly with auditors and tax advisors to ensure best practice and timely reporting.

4. Cash Management & Working Capital

• Hands-on management of AP/AR, cash flow and bank reconciliations, including intercompany, on a daily operational basis.

• Develop and implement strategies for effective cash management and working-capital optimization.

5. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead from the front: coach and develop the local accounting team, working hands-on alongside them to meet deadlines and resolve issues.

• Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and organize training to advance the team’s skills.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

6. Human Resources Management (local)

• Oversee local HR operations, ensuring compliance with German labor law, internal policies and corporate HR guidelines.

• Act as the main local point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related matters.

• Supervise payroll preparation and coordinate with external payroll providers.

• Manage the administrative and legal aspects of the employee lifecycle in coordination with the corporate HR team, and liaise with external HR advisors, labor authorities and social institutions.

7. Office Administration & Corporate Services

• Oversee office administration and ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the workplace.

• Manage relationships with office service providers, landlords and administrative vendors, and supervise procurement of office supplies, equipment and services.

• Ensure compliance with local administrative, corporate and regulatory requirements, and coordinate facility management, health & safety and workplace initiatives.

8. Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives

• Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.

• Identify cost savings and operational improvements and support strategic projects with financial expertise and analysis.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, operations) and with HQ to drive alignment on financial objectives and general accounting improvements.

9. Management & Leadership

• Provide a clear, structuring and inspiring framework: give meaning to actions and embody the Club Med Spirit.

• Develop and empower teams: Help them develop their skills, encourage autonomy and initiative.

Key Performance Indicators

• Accuracy of financial statements: percentage of error-free statements issued.

• Compliance rate : adherence to all legal, regulatory and statutory obligations.

• Timeliness of reporting : percentage of reports submitted within deadlines.

• Team development : improvement in team skills and performance.

• Efficiency savings : cost reduction achieved through process improvements.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• A professional accounting qualification (e.g. Bilanzbuchhalter, Steuerberater, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is strongly preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on ownership of full-cycle accounting and month-end close.

• Prior supervisory or team-leadership experience.

• Strong, practical knowledge of IFRS and HGB; experience with French GAAP is a plus.

Skills

• Proficient and hands-on in ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, BFC) and advanced Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.

• Fluent in English and German; French is a plus.
