“I'm Ornella, I'm 34 years old. I come from Cefalù in Sicily and I work for Club Med since 2018, I am the Front Desk manager.”

Why did you join Club Med?

“I started my adventure with Club Med in 2018 and it was unexpected. I worked in a hotel in Cefalù as a Front Desk manager and that's where I met the Club Med Cefalù's managers who had to open the Resort during the summer. They offered me to work for the Club Med and I said to myself "let's do it. I am very ambitious so let's take that opportunity".”

How did you evolve?

“I started my experience as a receptionist G.E. I then evolve quickly as a G.O. I became after one year Planning G.O. Planning is everything to do with room assignments, reservations and complaints. Then, I left for the Seychelles for the opening of our new Club Med Exclusive Collection Resort as Planning manager G.O. I lived a year in the Seychelles, it was incredible. After that, I came back here in my hometown as a Front Desk manager with so much pride.

Development and evolution is quick at Club Med, it was really fast for me because evolving from G.E to Planning G.O to Front Desk manager proves that I really jumped some steps on the way.”

It's safe to say that I've learned a lot on a professional level but also on a personal one.

What is your role?

“I am committed to developing, integrating, training my team and to provide a personalized follow up on customers and a follow-up of everything regarding the arrivals and departures."

What do you love the most about your job?

"I love my job because my job creates emotions. And my job makes me feel alive."

What do you do on your days off?

“During the summer, I go to the beach and stay there until 9pm.”

What did you learn at Club Med?

“It's safe to say that I've learned a lot on a professional level but also on a personal level. When one works in a classic hotel, you learn techniques but the human side is secondary.

The thing that I can say about Club Med, is that it's a real “school of life” both at a professional and personal level. All the cultures are mixed up so you can discover new things.

I didn't know how to speak French and English as I do today.”

What is your best memory at Club Med?

“The memories for me are the people I met, colleagues who really become friends. We share a lot of time together so it becomes your second family. To me, the memories are not necessarily things that pass but it's the people who moves me.”
