“My name is Alessia, I'm 34. I've been in Club Med for 6 years. I'm a boutique manager.”

What is your role?

“I manage my team, I take care of the stock management, guest relations and of course the HR part.

My everyday mission is to please our customers. I'm pleased to please and give satisfaction to our customers. we prepare the set-up, I do a little debriefing with my team to set the objectives of the day, we also do small training sessions throughout the day.”

How did you evolve?

“I have done a lot of studies: I studied languages and I was a schoolteacher. One day, I decided to change my job as I was speaking 4 languages and wanted some change. I didn't want to stay in school so I started to work in Kamarina, Sicily, on the excursions. I was part of an external company; I wasn't a G.O but rather more a G.E. So I started to sell those excursions and someday, the Chef de Village, who saw that I was always in contact with our customers and loving it, told me "why not join us as a G.O for a season?" Thus, I started at the Boutique of Club Med Cervinia. After 2 seasons and a half, I became manager.  I evolved within Club Med very quickly. It made me want to continue this adventure!”

Club Med trained me and it was a great opportunity for me.

What do you love the most about your job?

“The relationship with have with the customers but not only with them, with my team also. I've learned to pass on my knowledge to my team and that's really what keeps me motivated every day. We have a magical work environment. I wake up in the morning, I look at the sea, the sun is shining. When I was in the Alps, I was waking up to this amazing Mountain view. That's something! And the human spirit; I consider myself as a very human person and this relationship with G.Ms and my team, makes me want to continue. The mountain, for G.Os and G.Es who ski, it's a dream. You can ski on your time off, you have ski gear at your disposal, it really is a dream.”

What do you do on your days off?

“I like to enjoy the Resort facilities close to the zen zone. I also enjoy visiting the city nearby the Resort, as we're very close. When I was in France, I did a season in La Palmyre located in the west of France in Charente-Maritime. I didn't know this region at all, I've been more to the Mediterranean coast, and I loved it, it's such a nice place.

What did you learn at Club Med?

“I've learned all the sales techniques. I didn't know anything about it, as I studied languages. I mean, I've always been passionate about fashion, but I needed to learn the business techniques, so I wanted to thank Club Med for giving me the right training.”

What advice would you give to potential candidates?

“First of all, be ready to enjoy yourself, it's a beautiful experience and not only a professional one. It gives you the opportunity to quickly evolve on a professional level but also on a personal one. I even learn things about myself than I didn't knew about and it's really thanks to this experience. Be at ease around people, smile, be welcoming and just enjoy the moment.”
